Firesafe Installations Wins 2020 ASFP Best Installation Project of the Year

We are thrilled to announce that Firesafe Installations Ltd has been honoured with the Best Installation Project of the Year at the 2020 ASFP (Association for Specialist Fire Protection) Passive Fire Protection Industry Awards! Although the in-person awards ceremony was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our team is immensely proud to be recognised at the virtual event, which took place on 28 April 2021.

The winning project encompassed our work on the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. From the start, we knew this would be a highly challenging assignment. We were called upon to:

  • Design, install, and manage steelwork fire protection
  • Implement over 17,000 firestopping seals, including waterproof and load-bearing seals
  • Provide acoustic sealing for enhanced patient comfort and operational requirements
  • Create bespoke details and solutions to overcome poor site access and intricate architectural demands

Our approach has always been to ensure excellence from initial concept through to final commissioning. We logged every step of the project on Laing O’Rourke’s BIM Fieldview system, guaranteeing accurate, transparent documentation and smooth collaboration among all stakeholders.

Receiving this award from the ASFP reinforces our commitment to top-quality passive fire protection. It also highlights our dedication to continuous innovation—something that has been especially crucial during the uncertainties brought about by the pandemic. We’re proud of our entire Firesafe Installations team, whose flexibility, ingenuity, and expertise made this complex project such a success.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on pioneering new methods and best practices to help protect buildings and the people within them. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the ASFP for shining a spotlight on our work and to our partners at both Clatterbridge and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital for trusting us with these essential fire safety measures.

This award is a testament to our goal: to make every space we work on safer, more resilient, and fully compliant with the latest fire protection standards. We look forward to continuing our drive for excellence in the passive fire protection industry—no matter what challenges lie ahead.
